Sonia is passionate about the craft of acting and passionate about helping people become the best artists they can be. With her special one on one approach she works with each actor individually to help them grow as artists. Sonia believes "life imitates art" and promotes the artist to achieve more self discovery of what their strengths and weaknesses are to help them achieve their maximum potential. When people commit to the work, they grow. By providing valuable tools for their craft in a safe environment, change is imminent.

"LIVE...LOVE....LAUGH....GROW AND BUILD YOUR DREAM BREATH BY BREATH"

Sonia Curtis was born and raised in Hollywood, CA. Her father Howard Curtis, was a famous stuntman so she grew up going to sets regularly with him.  She was accepted into the prestigious BFA at USC, but went straight to work since she was financially independent at a young age.  Sonia booked one of her first auditions on the prime time TV show Falcon Crest and also booked a recurring role on "Days of Our Lives." While working professionally Sonia began training with renowned acting teachers such as Roy London, Sandra Seacat, and Larry Moss. She booked more roles in film and television on shows such as "Days of Our Lives,"  “Family Ties,” “Roseanne” and “So Little Time.” Her movie credits include “Stressed to Kill” with Armand Assante, “The Monster Squad,” “Relentless Justice” “Terminal Bliss,” “Nowhere to Run” and “The Boston Strangler.” Sonia was asked to teach and coach actors in 1998 with fellow Roy London Alumni Rick Johnson, and then in 1999 she created "Get Real Acting Classes." Coaching actors and wanting to create interesting roles for women lead to producing and directing several projects under the banner of her production company “Get Real Productions.” In 2012 she produced and starred in the short film “Deception,” and was nominated for best actress at the NYCIFF.

After studying with her mentor and teacher Larry Moss for 10 consecutive years, Mr. Moss encouraged Sonia to return to teaching in December 2015 . She is excited to launch the Sonia Curtis Studio in Studio City, CA as well as private coaching sessions.
